City Centre Part 1 - George Square and Merchant City

City Centre Part 1 - George Square and Merchant City

This video starts us on our adventures around Glasgow, starting in the very centre of the city. We find out about the City Chambers in George Square, one of the places to eat outside, the nearby key shopping streets and the area of Merchant City with its many places to eat and go out - as well as the best place to get a deep-fried Mars bar.

On a healthier Scottish culinary note, Merchant City is also home to the lovely Mharsanta ("Merchant" in Scots Gaelic, where "mh" usually sounds like "v" in English). You'll find Mharsanta very near the giant mural. It has lots of tasty traditional Scottish food and a lovely atmosphere.
